View Graph ------------------------------------ Version 1.0: 27th May 2001 Separate application for viewing TBL data with greater functionality than Geometric Modeller. Poisson Superfish Geometric Modeller ------------------------------------ Version 3.1: 09th Mar 2001 -Changed to MDI application. -Generation of simple IN7 files. -Active tracking of current object from script view. -Run support for Fish,CFish,AutoFish -Support for simple graphing of .tbl files. -Line object dialogue. -Separated Electrostatic and Magnetostatic definitions in Problem Type. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 3.0: 07th Oct 2000 Main Alterations: -The software now concentrates primarily on authoring and dynamic rendering of the geometry and definition of basic codes but still offers tools for creating primitive objects. -This version should handle most automesh files without corrupting the data. Standard features in the "Setup" menu are automatically disabled on load to avoid autoformatting of all REG data. This can however be switched according to author preference but it should be noted that some details, e.g comments, will not be maintained with autoformatting on. See also NOTE below. -Added a scripting window. The graphical view is updated dynamically according to the script content. Being a text editor, namelist data from other problems can easily be cut and pasted. Cut, Paste, Copy and Undo(single action) ONLY operate with this feature. -Added a Tree view. This gives a structured breakdown of each object and its corresponding points. Combined with the "Highlight selected items" option, objects and points may be highlighted on the geometry. Details can be changed within the tree view. -Added a translation function. Can only be used in conjunction with objects selected in the Tree View. -The appearance, font and background colour, of the Script and Tree view may be altered using the "Environment" menu. The changes are stored in the registry under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PS_GeometricModeller\Script... HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PS_GeometricModeller\Tree... -The boundary(XMAX,YMAX etc) is displayed in yellow, boundary conditions are named on each side. Neumann given as dotted yellow line, Dirichlet as solid. XREG and YREG settings are dislayed as yellow dash dot lines. Colour coding added to objects assigned VOLTAGE (red), CUR (blue), HDRIVE,SINEDRV (aqua). -Modified TWT tool to include basic properties for associated magnets. Boundary conditions and co-ordinate system are automatically set. -Corrected axis/co-ordinate labels on the basis of KPROB and ICYLIN combinations. Some image examples will still contain (x,y). -Removed accuracy restrictions. -Removed materials support due to the difficulties this introduced. -Removed all unsupported functionality. NOTE: PO data describing arcs is not fully supported. Where NT > 2, no support is provided and these points will display incorrectly. NT=1 and NT=2 will often given correct rendering but not always. Incorrect rendering tends to be very obvious. However, the rendering in no way affects the validity of the stored data and files saved containing such data should still run properly. This version has NOT been tested with files containing PO settings A, B, AOVRB. The first REG list will cause problems if it is all on a single line. This is not an issue for any other REG lists. If a circle seems to disappear on the graphical view, reduce the zoom factor. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notice: 14th Sept 2000 The software is currently undergoing extensive changes to depart from some of the current (major) restrictions and improve the flexibility, primarily by allowing any file to be loaded. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 2.1: 03rd Jun 2000 Main alterations: -Added "Run" Option to the main menu. Runs Automesh, VGAPlot or Pandira. Requires that File-->LANL Directory is set to point to the appropriate place. This setting, and the working directory, are stored in the registry under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PS_GeometricModeller\LANLCodes HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PS_GeometricModeller\WorkingDirectory Note: This has only been tested on Win 95. The problem must be saved before using the Run options. -Fixed reported "List Index Out of Bounds" bug with Magnet and Dielectric Data save. NOTE: This version handles item names only. These are case sensitive. The load routine only extracts objects, codes, and material names from the file. The material details for a project can be stored in the Project Materials file. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 2.0: 28th Nov 1999 Main alterations: -Added Load file routine. -Added Magnet database routine with save and load. -Added Dielectric database routine (incomplete) with save and load. -Added Project Materials database routine. -Added object edit routine to allow addition/removal/alteration of object vertices. -Added dialogue to allow general file codes to be specified by the user. The code descriptions are those given in the SF documentation. -Corrected the script produced for a circle. NOTE: This version handles item names only. These are case sensitive. The load routine only extracts objects, codes, and material names from the file. The material details for a project can be stored in the Project Materials file. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 1.1: 2nd Oct 1999 Added file preview. Improved general error trapping. Version 1: 1st Sept 1999 Basic version. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This software was developed primarily as a tool for Albacom Ltd to aid simulation of travelling wave tube (TWT) magnetic stacks using Poisson Superfish.
